Recycling Your Sex Toy

Save Our Planet, Jomrecycle!

Aiming to keep the devices it sells out of landfills, UK sex toy retailer LoveHoney encourages customers to send them back for recycling at the end of their useful life. Consumer will be rewarded with generous discount on a new, updated version.

LoveHoney launched Rabbit Amnesty, its own program for recycling its popular Rabbit vibrators in order to accomplish the new recycling regulations on electronic products. Owners of the devices can send their outdated or overused vibrators to the company and receive a half-price Rabbit vibrator from the LoveHoney range.

The second-hand toys are recycled and treated in an ecologically sound manner. LoveHoney also donates GBP 1 to The World Land Trust for each Rabbit that gets sent back. It is for the charity's tropical forest land purchase and protection projects. They have started off with a £1,000 donation to buy and protect 20 acres of tropical forest.

Greenpeace says, "a basic environmental principle is that if you make and sell a product you should be responsible for that product when it is no longer wanted. This is also a basic rule for children: you clean up your own mess."

So, what are you waiting for? Start recycling now. Jom Recycle!
